Quest Overview

Thunder Breathing unlocks through four phases: collect 20 soups from Okuyia Village vendors and spawns, find Kujima in his Coast Forest house beside the wisteria tree, deliver a letter to Marrone at Slayer Corps HQ, and pay 4,000 yen to complete training. Reset any existing breathing with Breath Indict before starting if you already have another style equipped.

Soups are consumable quest items — not the same as shop food. Farm Okuyia thoroughly before visiting Kujima to avoid backtracking across the map.

Farming 20 Soups in Okuyia

Start in Okuyia Village near the fast travel hub. Soups spawn as interactable pickups and vendor purchases scattered through Okuyia streets and adjacent fields. Collect until your inventory shows twenty — partial turn-ins fail Kujima's dialogue check.

Stack soup farming with demon horn kills if you plan Wind Breathing later — Okuyia Plains spawns feed both quests. The farm yen guide covers efficient Okuyia loops that pass soup spawn nodes.

Finding Kujima in Coast Forest

With twenty soups banked, travel to Coast Forest and locate Kujima's house beside the large wisteria tree — the same forest region where Flower Breathing's second flower sits near the retired Thunder Hashira house. Kujima's dialogue triggers the letter delivery step once soups are turned in.

See the trainer locations map and embedded video for exact coordinates. Demon spawns along the Coast Forest path will attack during transit — clear routes or party up.

Letter Delivery to Marrone

Kujima gives you a letter for Marrone — deliver it to Marrone at Slayer Corps HQ before returning to pay the final yen fee. Marrone sits in the Corps interior area; interact to complete the delivery step and unlock Thunder payment dialogue.

This fetch step separates Thunder from pure yen trainers like Insect or Water. Do not skip Marrone — Kujima will not accept 4,000 yen until the letter is delivered.

Patch 5.6 Cooldown Fixes and PvP

Pre-5.6 Thunder exploited cooldown resets that let players spam lightning forms faster than intended. Patch 5.6 normalized those timers — the style remains strong B-tier burst but no longer breaks ranked with infinite rotation bugs.

Thunder rewards single-hit burst and dash-in pressure — allocate skill points toward first-form openers and evasive extenders. Compare against Flame rushdown on the Breathing tier list. Thunder wins quick trades; Flame wins sustained combo chains.
