How to Get Moon Breathing in Demonfall
Moon Breathing is Kokushibo's six-form style and one of the strongest options in Demonfall — but it is locked behind the Hybrid path. Normal Slayers cannot learn Moon, no matter their Prestige count. You must convert to Hybrid with five Muzan Blood, accept the level 25 reset, grind back to level 50, and then find Kokushibo in Frosty Forest. This guide walks through every step so you do not waste Muzan Blood or confuse Moon's gates with Sun's Prestige requirements.
Hybrid Is Mandatory
Moon Breathing is Hybrid-only. If you are a standard Slayer — even with Prestige 3 — Kokushibo will not teach you Moon. Complete Hybrid conversion first: level 50, five Muzan Blood, speak to Kokushibo for the initial Hybrid reset to level 25. Full steps are in the Hybrid guide.
Hybrid gives you both Breathing meter and Blood Demon Art meter, letting Moon combos extend into demon skill finishers. Pure Slayers pursue Sun Breathing through Tanjiro instead. Choose your endgame before spending Muzan Blood — they are rare drops and code rewards.
Kokushibo in Frosty Forest
After becoming Hybrid and reaching level 50 again, travel to Frosty Forest, the snow-bound northern region. Kokushibo appears as the Moon trainer NPC among the frozen paths. His location is marked on the trainer locations map — expect high-level demon spawns in the area.
Frosty Forest is dangerous for under-leveled Hybrids. Farm yen and potions using yen farming routes during your level 25–50 climb so you arrive prepared. Party clears are common here because world bosses and elite demons roam nearby.
Moon Breathing Trial
Kokushibo's trial tests Hybrid mechanics — you will need to land Moon forms while managing Blood Demon Art cooldowns. Moon forms feature crescent-shaped slashes with strong single-target burst, similar in prestige to Upper Moon combat from the anime.
Failure allows retries without consuming extra Muzan Blood. Hybrid status persists. Bring Combat Potions for DPS checks; console players should pre-bind potions using the potions console guide so you can heal mid-trial without menu diving.
Moon vs Sun at Endgame
Sun suits pure Slayers with Kamado clan from the Prestige path. Moon suits Hybrids who accepted the level 25 reset and want maximum PvP burst plus BDA combos. Compare both on the Breathing tier list — Moon often edges PvP while Sun remains excellent for consistent Slayer PvE.
You cannot easily swap between Sun and Moon on one character without major wipes. Plan your main build early and use alts if you want to experience both paths.
Skill Point Allocation Tips
Prioritize Moon forms that chain into your equipped Blood Demon Art. Hybrid meter management separates average Moon players from strong ones — weave basic attacks between Breathing forms to rebuild both meters efficiently.
After Moon unlock, continue farming demon horns and rare drops for crafting and trade economy. Hybrids excel in Frosty Forest endgame loops where other factions struggle without proper levels and potion stock.
Moon Form Priority List
Unlock Moon forms in an order that supports your chosen Blood Demon Art — some BDAs extend combo windows after crescent slashes while others benefit from the final Moon form's knockback. Test combinations in private servers before spending irreversible skill points on ranked builds.
Moon's highest forms hit hardest but cost the most meter — save them for finishers after softening targets with basic attacks and lower Moon forms. Hybrid meter management means watching both Breathing and BDA bars; never dump both meters simultaneously unless the kill is guaranteed.
Frosty Forest Survival Tips
Frosty Forest demons hit harder than Kamakura outskirts. Travel in groups, carry Health Potions, and know exit paths to Kamakura if ambushed by Slayer hunters during PvP-enabled servers. Kokushibo's trainer area attracts both Hybrids learning Moon and Slayers farming rare drops — expect contested zones.
Wear appropriate trinkets and upgrade your Nichirin before farming here long sessions. See Nichirin swords for upgrade paths that synergize with Moon's slash-heavy kit.
