Requirements Checklist

Bank 2,000 yen before visiting Tokito — the same entry fee as Water Breathing through Urokodaki. Mist needs no demon horns, Prestige, or Breath Indict unless you already have another style equipped. Reset with Breath Indict from the potions page or past expired codes if switching styles.

Plan roughly 12 skill points to max core Mist forms for mid-game PvP. Farm yen via the farm yen guide around Kamakura and Okuyia before trekking to Frosty Forest.

Finding Tokito in Frosty Forest

Travel to Frosty Forest and locate Muichiro Tokito near a tent behind a large rock on the forest's eastern side. From the giant tree landmark, walk right, follow the rock ledge north-west until you see snow falling off a boulder — Tokito camps beside that campsite.

Frosty Forest also hosts Kokushibo for Moon Breathing — high-level PvP traffic makes travel risky for low accounts. Use the trainer locations map and embedded video if you confuse Tokito's rock path with Moon quest markers deeper in the zone.

Yen Payment and Maze Trial

Talk to Tokito and pay 2,000 yen. He teleports you into a mist maze with no time limit — navigate fog corridors until you find Tokito again inside the instance. Return to the real world, speak to him once more, and Mist Breathing unlocks with the first form Eight Layered Mist.

The maze punishes rushing — follow wall edges and listen for NPC proximity cues. Failed runs simply retry without repaying yen. Watch the embedded video for a full maze walkthrough if you stall on blind corners.

Tokito Clan Bonus and Seventh Form

Tokito family members receive a 10% XP boost and automatic access to Seventh Form: Obscuring Clouds — a wide-range mist cloak that creates afterimages for mix-up escapes. Non-Tokito Slayers still learn Mist fully but skip the exclusive seventh form unless they reroll family with a Wipe Potion.

Check the family tier list before burning rerolls — Tomioka also synergizes with Water if you prefer defensive A-tier over Mist mobility.

Mist in PvP and PvE

Mist ranks A-tier on most July 2026 lists — Scattering Mist Splash grants iframes, Shifting Flow Slash chains gap closers, and Obscuring Clouds (Tokito clan) resets losing trades. Patch 5.6 did not nerf Mist directly; ranked integrity fixes simply removed unrelated cooldown exploits affecting other styles.

Compare against Wind C-tier mobility on the Breathing tier list. Mist wins neutral reset games; Wind wins raw kiting. Health Potions extend iframe windows — bind them via the console potion guide on Xbox and PlayStation.
